In the wake of bloody skirmishes between the Planetary Defense Forces and the Traitor Guard, the war-torn surface of the Hive World is littered with the dead, the dying, and the abandoned. Scavengers work the no-man's land between the battle lines, picking through wreckage for anything of value. One scavenger discovers something that changes everything: a functioning piece of pre-heresy technology that the Traitor Guard would kill for and the Imperial forces would die to protect.
