"Today?" Jane Sampson looked bewildered, she had just woken up not long ago, and the only thing she had done since waking up was to call James Black to find out if he had been reborn like her, except he hadn’t answered either of the two calls she made. After that, she just sat by the bay window, spacing out.

"Sis, today is Mom’s birthday, did you really forget? You’re not going to tell me you haven’t prepared a gift, are you? Why didn’t you say something earlier? If you had, I could have picked something up for you from the mall when I was coming over," Bright Sampson looked somewhat frantic as he watched Jane Sampson still standing dazed in the doorway and quickly stepped forward to pull her inside.
