I opened my eyes, blinking slowly as I tried to think about last night. I fell asleep while Hugo was trying to wake me up — it sounded more like he was lulling me to sleep, though. Just then, I turned my head to the side and smiled. He was asleep, lying on his side while using his bent arm as his pillow.

’It looks like he slept in an uncomfortable position,’ I thought, thinking that this bed was small for two people. ’But this is the first time I’ve seen him asleep and unguarded.’
