"I don’t care how we started anymore, Ruthlyn, what matters is where we’re going." He opened the box, revealing a delicate ring that glistened under the night sky. "I want to be engaged to you for real this time, not because we have to, but because I choose you and you want me. Will you marry me, Ruthlyn?"
