Yuan stood at the chamber entrance for a full minute before approaching.

He’d already determined through Mana Sense that the room contained one signature aside from the artifact itself, dormant and low, consistent with something in a resting state rather than an active patrol. The minute was for something else. The artifact had a quality that made the approach feel like a decision rather than a movement, like the space between it and him was asking him to be certain before he closed it.
