Even though it was pouring outside, Eveline was engrossed in the scenery right away. Like the rain, she felt the stains of her past deeply engraved in her heart, just as her life flowed like water.
The sight was both beautiful and painful because it brought back intense memories of something very personal to her.
Standing by the window frame, Eveline smiled with misty eyes and said, "I remember how much you liked rain, baby." Her hand reflexively touched her flat abdomen, reminiscing about her unborn child.
