"Good, good, my grandson, so small, just a little child stayed in the collapsed corner of the wall. When other kids cried, he would comfort them, though he was just a little one himself and needed comforting. But he didn't have any, he just kept comforting others while secretly checking the expressions on the Welfare Institute aunties' faces, looking so pitiful.
In the deep of the night when I couldn't sleep, I thought of him. Later, I kept hinting to myself that when destiny lays a great responsibility on someone, it must first toughen their spirit. I guess he himself didn't know how carefully he hid his look — all adults understood it.
