Chapter 85: Stay A Little Longer
Soft sunlight came through the curtains in the twins’ room at Felix’s. Toys were still scattered all over the floor. Katherine sat cross-legged on the bed, folding a tiny pink cardigan in her lap with a quiet sigh. The room smelled faintly of baby powder and a touch of lavender from the oil diffuser Felix had tucked in the corner.
She had come here to gather the rest of the twins’ things before heading back to her apartment. A few books, socks that always disappeared in pairs, Nathan’s beloved dinosaur plush, Maya’s sketchbook with its rainbow scribbles. But she hadn’t moved for a while now. The pile of folded clothes sat by her side, forgotten.
