Chapter 6: The Midnight Visitor

Before him stretched a European-style cemetery, shrouded in night. Rows of ghastly white tombstones stood in perfect formation, like teeth sprouting from the earth, the loose soil their rotting gums.

A towering statue rose from the center of the graveyard. The crimson moonlight cast a lurid glaze over its pristine white surface. In its hands, held before its chest, it cradled something a startling, venomous red.

Qi Si strolled toward it, unhurried, when a sudden rustle sounded behind him.
