The sounds of heavy breathing by my door snapped me out of the thoughts in my head. My head sprung up as I glanced away from my laptop, thinking I’d heard wrong, but the sound didn’t stop; if anything, it seemed to intensify with each passing second and I slowly rose from my chair, grabbed a baton and tiptoed to the door with the intention of striking whoever it was first before they got to me.
