While everyone inside the guildhall was immersed in the lively and joyous atmosphere of the Miss Fairy Tail competition, Ankh quietly slipped away from his seat.
Taking advantage of the cheering crowd, and without Erza and Mirajane keeping a hawk-eyed watch on him for once, Ankh, the so-called "injured patient," easily evaded the group of rough-and-tumble guys.
He slipped out the back door and made his way outside the guild.
