James Black walked over and sat down next to her, watched the TV show for a short while, found it uninteresting, and picked up the book lying next to him instead. Meanwhile, one of his hands came to rest on Jane Sampson’s waist, yet the person giggling away hadn’t noticed the added hand on her waist.
After the crosstalk show ended, Jane Sampson lost interest in the following program. Having watched for a short while, her attention began to drift, and she turned to look at James Black, realizing only then that his hand had been around her waist all this time.
